Education Ministry Orders Governance Boost in Regional Directorates

Blida, Algeria – The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, inaugurated a training day for the General Secretaries of Education Directorates this Saturday at the National Institute for the Training of Employees in the National Education Sector in Blida. The event, themed ‘Developing Administrative Competencies and Enhancing Management Performance,’ signals a renewed focus on improving governance within the education sector.

During his opening address, Minister Saadaoui issued a series of directives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of local management. He emphasized the crucial role General Secretaries play in implementing state policy within the sector, particularly in administrative and financial aspects, and in ensuring the smooth operation of educational institutions.

The Minister called for strict adherence to transparency in managing sensitive operations, especially the teacher recruitment competition based on qualifications. He stressed full compliance with laws and regulations and the importance of daily monitoring to guarantee the integrity of procedures and the quality of pedagogical supervision.

Saadaoui also highlighted the need to equip Education Directorates with specialized human resources to oversee the implementation and monitoring of educational institution projects. Furthermore, he mandated the preparation of detailed plans to assess aging and damaged infrastructure, prioritizing renovation or replacement efforts.

To improve learning conditions, the Minister ordered intensified monitoring of school health and sports programs, ensuring the readiness of detection and follow-up units in coordination with the health sector, thereby providing a healthy educational environment for students. He also emphasized the importance of digitization, a culture of support, and open communication channels with the educational community and social partners. The Minister urged prompt resolution of employee administrative issues, recognizing the direct impact on stability and improved performance within institutions.

According to the Minister, this training day is part of a national strategy to invest in administrative competencies, considering them fundamental to the success of reforms and ensuring the quality of the educational system.
