Algiers – The Minister of Communication, Zohir Bouamama, has initiated extensive consultations with leading figures from Algeria’s academic institutions to develop a comprehensive reform strategy for the nation’s media landscape. The meetings, held at the Ministry headquarters, represent a significant step towards leveraging national expertise in shaping the future of media and communication in Algeria.
Key participants included Professor Abdelmalek Mezouda, Director of the National School of Administration; Professor Khaled Laalaoui, Director of the National Graduate School of Journalism and Information Sciences; Professor Zakaria Wahbi, Director of the Higher School of Political Science; and Professor Malika Attoui, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Algiers 3.
These consultations are part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Communication to engage a wide range of stakeholders, including academics, experts, and media professionals. This approach aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s vision of empowering national talent to contribute to a modern and forward-thinking media sector.
Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and academic institutions through joint activities and events. The aim is to integrate these institutions into the Ministry’s initiatives for the current year, bridging the gap between academic training and professional practice.
Minister Bouamama emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships with universities and research centers.
