Algiers, Algeria – The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion is preparing to launch a unified digital window for exporters, a strategic move aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, reducing timelines, and enhancing transparency in the export process.
Minister of Trade, Kamel Rezig, revealed the initiative during a presentation before the Economic Affairs, Development, Industry, Trade, and Planning Committee of the National People’s Assembly. He stated that his department is finalizing the digital platform, which will cater to exporters across various sectors.
The platform will enable exporters to submit their files and obtain the necessary documents quickly and without the need to travel to Algiers. Rezig emphasized that the new digital window will offer exporters the ability to book appointments electronically and track their files remotely, thereby accelerating the processing of concerns and improving service quality. He considers this step a major qualitative leap in Algeria’s export system.
“This mechanism will significantly contribute to increasing national non-hydrocarbon exports and enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products in foreign markets,” the Minister added, particularly in light of the expanding base of operators involved in export activities.
Rezig disclosed that the number of exporters during the first ten months of 2025 reached approximately 1,800, including 788 operators exporting to Africa, 961 to Europe, and 430 to Asian markets.
The Minister also discussed the two new national bodies responsible for promoting exports and regulating imports, which President Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered to be established. He clarified that the determination of their internal organization is in its final stages, pending approval.
This measure is part of the restructuring of the foreign trade system, following the dissolution of the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ALGEX) and the adoption of a new approach aimed at strengthening governance and effectiveness, and transitioning from ad-hoc solutions to sustainable policies that ensure the valorization of national production capacities and create real added value for the Algerian economy.
