DZWatch Exclusive: The National Rail Transport Company has released the schedules and ticket prices for the international train service connecting Algiers and Tunis. This service offers a convenient and affordable travel option between the two North African capitals.
According to a company statement, the train departs from Annaba station on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 9:00 AM, arriving in Tunis at 6:27 PM. The route includes stops in Souk Ahras, Ghardimaou, Jendouba, and Beja.
For the return journey, the train leaves Tunis station on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:25 AM, reaching Annaba at 6:20 PM. Customs and immigration procedures will be carried out at the Souk Ahras international station on the Algerian side and at the Ghardimaou station on the Tunisian side.
Tickets can be purchased at Annaba and Souk Ahras stations, as well as at the main stations in Algiers, Oran, and Constantine, providing widespread access to this international route.
Ticket prices are designed to be competitive and accessible. A first-class ticket costs 1900 Algerian Dinars, while a second-class ticket is priced at 1640 Algerian Dinars. Round-trip tickets are available for 3485 Algerian Dinars in first class and 3040 Algerian Dinars in second class.
The company statement also highlighted that travel is free for children under the age of 4. Children aged between 4 and 12 years are eligible for a 50% discount on ticket prices, making it an attractive option for families.
