Oran’s Supreme Council for Youth has recently inked two pivotal framework agreements with the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Marine Fisheries and Fishery Products. These agreements are set to bolster cooperation in supporting young entrepreneurs and integrating them more effectively into these vital sectors.

The signing ceremony, held during the opening of the second edition of the Algerian Youth Forum organized by the Council, was attended by Mustapha Haidawi, the President of the Supreme Council for Youth, along with the Agriculture Minister, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, and the Minister of Marine Fisheries, Ahmed Badani.

Minister Henni emphasized the significance of these agreements in engaging youth increasingly in agriculture, especially in the face of geopolitical and climatic changes that underscore the need for national food security. He encouraged young graduates, particularly from higher education and vocational training backgrounds, to invest their energies in the agricultural sector, which offers numerous investment opportunities and support.

Minister Badani highlighted the second agreement’s focus on enhancing cooperation to support youth, especially in training and investment aspects in the fisheries sector. This agreement aims to provide guidance and sufficient support to ensure the success of their projects.

These agreements will also define the areas of collaboration between the parties, fostering effective joint efforts and experience sharing with the youth. This is in pursuit of enhancing their participation in achieving sustainable national developmental goals, in addition to improving their performance in practically implementing projects contributing to food security.

Moreover, these initiatives seek to guide Algerian youth towards entrepreneurship in the field of emerging, small, and medium enterprises related to marine fisheries and aquaculture. Through sector-specific services and training programs, the aim is to develop their capabilities and stimulate their creative energies, while also instilling a culture of conserving and sustaining marine resources among the youth.

The second edition of the Algerian Youth Forum, titled “Challenges of Citizenship: The Algerian Youth between Political and Economic Empowerment,” saw participation from government members, civil society representatives, revolutionary family members, local authorities, and over 800 young men and women from various provinces and the national diaspora abroad.
