DZWatch Exclusive: Candidates applying for teaching positions across all educational levels have been given a strict 24-hour deadline to rectify errors in their application files. Several regional education directorates have announced that applicants whose files were flagged as ‘non-compliant’ due to discrepancies discovered during the review process must immediately access their online accounts to address these issues.
The deadline for correcting these errors is today, Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Failure to comply will result in automatic disqualification from the recruitment process.
Clarifications have been issued regarding the scoring of academic records. For candidates applying with a Master’s degree obtained after a Bachelor’s degree, the overall grade point average (GPA) of the two-year Master’s program will be used for evaluation. Those with a Master’s degree obtained after an Engineering degree will be assessed based on the one-year Master’s GPA. Candidates applying with an Engineering degree will have their academic record scored based on the five-year Engineering program’s GPA.
The seniority of the degree will be determined by the date of deliberation, not the date of issuance, as indicated on the candidate’s certificate. In cases where only the month and year are provided for the deliberation date, the 30th of that month and year will be used. If only the year is provided, December 31st of that year will be used.
Applicants bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided in their applications. Inaccurate or false information may lead to disqualification from the competition. Candidates who fail to correct their information within the stipulated timeframe will be permanently excluded from participating in the recruitment process.
