New Service Streamlines Civil Registry for Algerians Born Abroad

Algiers, Algeria – The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation have jointly announced the launch of a new service aimed at assisting Algerian citizens born abroad who are currently residing within the country. This initiative simplifies the process of registering and correcting their civil registry documents.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this measure is designed to enhance the quality and accessibility of administrative services for citizens. Previously, individuals were required to visit the Civil Registry Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to submit or follow up on requests related to obtaining, registering, or correcting civil registry documents. This new service eliminates that necessity.

The primary objective of this service is to alleviate administrative and logistical burdens on citizens, saving them time and effort. It also aims to foster better coordination between various relevant sectors, leading to faster and more accurate processing of applications. This streamlined approach is expected to significantly improve the overall efficiency of civil registry procedures.

Initially, the service will be implemented in municipalities within the Algiers province, as well as in the main municipalities of other provinces across the nation. The plan is to gradually expand the service to encompass all municipalities throughout the country. This phased rollout will ensure a smooth transition and allow for adjustments based on initial implementation feedback.

DZWatch will continue to monitor the implementation of this new service and provide updates as they become available. This initiative represents a significant step towards modernizing administrative processes and improving citizen services in Algeria.
