January 15, 2026 – A new chapter in Algeria’s space capabilities unfolded this morning with the successful launch of the Alsat-3A satellite. The launch, observed by Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, took place from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, the Alsat-3A mission commenced at 05:01 AM Algerian time (12:01 PM China time) and was executed flawlessly. The successful deployment marks a significant advancement in Algeria’s capacity for remote sensing and geospatial intelligence.
