Prime Minister Chairs Government Meeting on Key National Initiatives

Prime Minister Sifi Gharib presided over a government meeting today, Wednesday, focusing on several critical initiatives aimed at improving social inclusion, cultural development, and vocational training within Algeria.

The meeting commenced with a review of a draft executive decree concerning the establishment of specialized classrooms within mainstream schools. This initiative seeks to provide enhanced support and facilitate accommodations during examinations and competitions for individuals with special needs. The approach emphasizes a comprehensive and integrated model for supporting these individuals within a regular school environment, in close collaboration with the ministries responsible for national solidarity, national education, and health. The core objective is to realize the principle of equal opportunity by guaranteeing the right to education without discrimination. This will be achieved through tailored pedagogical support and the implementation of necessary mechanisms and adaptations to enable these students to pursue their education and successfully complete examinations and competitions.

Furthermore, the government heard a presentation on the proposed creation of the Algerian Philharmonic Orchestra. This ambitious project aims to solidify Algeria’s presence on the international cultural stage as a vibrant and influential force. The establishment of a professional national ensemble, embodied by the Algerian Philharmonic Orchestra, is considered a vital necessity. It will serve as a crucial guarantor for the interpretation, revival, and celebration of Algeria’s rich musical heritage. The orchestra’s primary responsibilities will include preserving this heritage, fostering artistic appreciation, discovering emerging talents, and supporting musical innovation.

Finally, the government received a presentation on the National Framework for Training and Skills. This framework represents a key structural reform undertaken by the vocational training sector, within the context of a comprehensive vision aimed at enhancing employability, developing human resources, and facilitating a qualitative shift. This shift moves away from a program-based training model towards a modern approach centered on readily employable professional skills. The framework will provide a unified and clear understanding of the skills needed at the national level, ensuring coordination between training, employment, and investment policies. This will be achieved by directly linking training pathways to officially recognized professions within the national classification of occupations and employment.
