Teacher Recruitment Deadline Extended in Select Regions

The Ministry of National Education has announced an extension to the registration deadline for teacher recruitment competitions for the year 2025. This exceptional measure addresses shortages of applicants in specific educational directorates.

A statement released yesterday by the Ministry cited ongoing monitoring of recruitment processes and a commitment to ensuring adequate pedagogical staffing across all educational institutions as the driving factors behind the decision. Deficiencies in applicant numbers were noted in certain regions and subject areas.

Following approval from the Directorate General of Public Service and Administrative Reform, the registration period has been extended from January 15th to January 20th. This extension applies to candidates seeking positions as Primary School Teachers (Category 1), Middle School Teachers (Category 1), and High School Teachers (Category 1) in designated subjects and regions. A temporary exemption from providing proof of residency has also been granted.

Applications and document submissions must be completed exclusively through the National Office of Examinations and Competitions (ONEC) online platform. Candidates should follow the procedures and conditions outlined in Circular No. 713, dated December 11, 2025, and its annexes, which govern the organization of certificate-based teacher recruitment competitions for 2025.

The Ministry emphasized that this extension is an exceptional measure, implemented only after exhausting the pool of qualified applicants within the affected regions. Priority will continue to be given to residents of these regions, as specified in the table detailing the positions and subjects eligible for the extended registration period.
