The Indian Embassy in Israel has issued a warning to its citizens, urging them to avoid all non-essential travel to the country due to escalating security concerns in the region. This advisory comes as Lufthansa Group extends the suspension of its overnight flights to and from Tel Aviv.
In a statement released Friday, the Indian Embassy advised Indian nationals currently residing in Israel to exercise extreme caution and strictly adhere to all security instructions and protocols issued by Israeli authorities. The embassy specifically urged citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel within the country and encouraged anyone facing an emergency situation to contact the embassy immediately.
The advisory follows similar warnings issued by other nations. Concerns stem from heightened regional tensions and the potential for disruptions. Several Israeli cities have reportedly opened public shelters, indicating a heightened state of alert.
Adding to the concerns, Lufthansa Group has prolonged the suspension of its nighttime flights to and from Tel Aviv until January 31st. The airline group, which includes several major European carriers, will only operate daytime flights during this period. This decision is reportedly aimed at ensuring that flight crews can return to their home bases without requiring overnight stays in Israel, reflecting the perceived security risks.
DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
