Algiers – In a significant first, the Ministry of National Education has announced the implementation of mandatory pre-appointment training for educators and inspectors. This intensive program, lasting up to 350 hours, aims to better prepare individuals for their roles within the Algerian education system.
The directive, outlined in Circular No. 01 dated January 15, 2026, from the Directorate of Training under the General Directorate of Human Resources and Training, details the organization of pre-integration training for specific positions within the national education sector. This initiative aligns with Executive Decree No. 25-54, dated January 21, 2025, and the joint ministerial decree of October 26, 2025, which mandate compulsory training for certain roles before official appointment.
The Ministry emphasizes that this comprehensive training is designed to standardize procedures and refine the organizational and procedural aspects of planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating pre-integration training. The overarching goal is to ensure effective professional and pedagogical qualification, enhancing the readiness of personnel to perform their duties in accordance with established regulations. Ultimately, this aims to achieve higher quality performance and greater consistency with the demands of the evolving educational landscape.
The training program will encompass a range of positions, including primary, middle, and secondary school teachers (both first and second grade, as well as distinguished teachers), middle school supervisors, chief school nutrition advisors, primary education inspectors specializing in school nutrition, and middle school guidance and counseling inspectors. The curriculum will focus on equipping participants with the essential professional and pedagogical knowledge and skills necessary for success in their designated roles.
In accordance with Article 6 of the joint ministerial decree of October 26, 2025, regional education directorates will identify and designate public education institutions as training centers for this pre-integration program, benefiting the National Institutes.
