The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, announced on Saturday the organization of a new recruitment examination for teachers, scheduled for 2026. The announcement was made during the launch of the first qualifying round of the third Algerian Mathematics Olympiad, held at the Omarani Brothers Middle School in Algiers.
Minister Saadaoui explained that this new examination complements the existing professional exams for other educational staff, aiming to address the sector’s needs and provide educational institutions with qualified personnel.
Regarding the current teacher recruitment competition, Saadaoui stated that it witnessed the participation of over one million candidates vying for 40,500 positions across the three educational levels. He emphasized that the Ministry has been actively addressing the concerns of the candidates through daily monitoring and responding to their questions and inquiries.
The Minister stressed the importance of conducting the examination with transparency and clarity to ensure fair competition among all applicants. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to applying the required professional standards in selecting qualified teaching staff. “The goal is to ensure that the best and brightest individuals are selected to shape the future of our students,” he noted.
The upcoming 2026 recruitment exam signals the government’s continued investment in education and its dedication to strengthening the teaching workforce. Further details regarding the exam’s format, eligibility criteria, and application process will be released in the coming months.
