Kafr Ni’ma, West Bank – Israeli occupation forces detained a number of Palestinian worshippers inside the old mosque in the village of Kafr Ni’ma, west of Ramallah, earlier today.
According to local sources, Israeli forces stormed Kafr Ni’ma and surrounded the mosque, preventing those inside from leaving. Reports indicate that sound bombs and tear gas were deployed in the vicinity of the mosque and within residential areas of the village, causing widespread fear, particularly among women and children.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Witnesses stated that Israeli soldiers intensified their military presence in the area, preventing residents from approaching the mosque.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the West Bank. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and settlers perpetrated a total of 23,827 attacks against Palestinian citizens and their properties throughout the West Bank last year. These attacks were carried out by the Israeli army, settlers, and jointly by both entities.
