The Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, is continuing his official visit to the State of Qatar. This visit, now in its second day, follows an invitation from Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, to participate in the 9th edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026).
Lieutenant General Chengriha was received at Doha International Airport yesterday by Major General Hamad bin Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, along with the Algerian Ambassador to Qatar, Saleh Attia.
This visit underscores the commitment to strengthening military cooperation between Algeria and Qatar. Lieutenant General Chengriha is scheduled to hold meetings with several Qatari officials. Discussions will focus on ways to develop the bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest, serving the common interests of both countries and enhancing defence coordination and cooperation.
According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defence, the visit also aims to broaden the horizons of military cooperation between the two nations and strengthen coordination in defence fields. This initiative is intended to contribute to supporting regional security and stability. The ongoing discussions are expected to pave the way for future collaborations and joint ventures in the defence sector.
