Dakar – Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has announced an unprecedented reward for the national football team following their stellar performance in continental competitions. The gesture aims to recognize their sporting achievement and the pride they brought to Senegal.
Each player will receive a financial bonus of 75 million CFA francs. In addition to the monetary reward, each member of the squad will be granted a plot of land measuring 1500 square meters in the Petite Côte region. This dual incentive underscores the government’s commitment to honoring the team’s dedication.
The announcement was made during an official ceremony hosted by the Presidency, attended by government officials and sports sector leaders. President Faye emphasized that this stimulus reflects the state’s recognition of the players’ sacrifices, fighting spirit, and role in strengthening national unity.
The timing of this recognition is particularly significant, given the challenges the Senegalese team faced during their time in Morocco. Despite difficult circumstances, the players persevered and achieved positive results, showcasing their resilience and determination.
This initiative aligns with the Senegalese government’s vision to support sports and invest in youth development. The move has been widely welcomed in sports and media circles, hailed as one of the most significant presidential incentive programs in the history of Senegalese football. It is a testament to the nation’s belief in the power of sports to inspire and unite.
The rewards highlight the importance Senegal places on its athletes and their contributions to the nation’s identity. The government hopes this will further encourage young Senegalese people to pursue their dreams and excel in sports.
