Algeria and Italy Forge Academic Ties with New Agreements

Algiers, Algeria – In a move signaling strengthened academic relations between Algeria and Italy, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, oversaw the signing of twinning and partnership agreements today at the ministry headquarters. The agreements were established between several Algerian higher education institutions and the University of Genoa, along with the Regional Agency for Economic Development of Liguria.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Italy to Algeria, Alberto Cutillo, the President of the University of Genoa, and his accompanying academic delegation. The event underscored the shared commitment to deepening scientific and research collaboration between the two nations.

These agreements aim to broaden cooperation in scientific research and innovation, while fostering the exchange of expertise in entrepreneurship, start-ups, and business incubators. They also encourage academic mobility for students, professors, and researchers from both countries, contributing to improved training quality and stronger links between universities and the economic environment.

This initiative is part of the Ministry of Higher Education’s strategy to internationalize Algerian universities and enhance their presence in the Mediterranean and European academic spheres. The goal is to bolster scientific research and promote sustainable economic development in Algeria.
