Severe Weather Alert: Strong Winds, Thunderstorms Expected

DZWatch Exclusive – Several regions across the nation are bracing for severe weather conditions, including strong winds and thunderstorms, according to the National Meteorological Office.

A weather alert issued earlier today indicates that several provinces are at risk of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The affected regions include Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Sidi Bel Abbes, Oran, Mascara, Saida, Mostaganem, and Relizane. The alert also extends to Tiaret, Chlef, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Laghouat, Djelfa, M’Sila, Ouled Djellal, Bouira, Biskra, and Batna.

The initial warning regarding rainfall and thunderstorms is valid until 6:00 PM today.

In addition to the risk of thunderstorms, the National Meteorological Office has also issued a warning for strong winds in other areas. Provinces expected to experience high winds include Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Ain Temouchent, Tlemcen, Naama, El Bayadh, and Laghouat.

This second alert for strong winds is in effect from 3:00 PM today until dawn tomorrow, Saturday. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and to secure any loose objects that could be affected by the high winds.
