DZWatch Exclusive: The Algerian Meteorological Office has issued a severe weather warning for numerous provinces across the country, forecasting heavy thunderstorms and rainfall exceeding 50mm in some areas.
The initial warning, effective from Sunday midday until Monday midday, covers the provinces of Mostaganem, Chlef, Mascara, Relizane, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, and Ain Defla. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions against potential flooding and disruptions.
A second weather alert, commencing at 10 PM Sunday and lasting until Monday midday, predicts thunderstorms with rainfall up to 40mm for Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Blida, Medea, and Bouira.
Furthermore, the meteorological service anticipates significant thunderstorms with rainfall surpassing 50mm in Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Setif, Guelma, and Souk Ahras.
