The National Council for Agricultural Mechanization was officially inaugurated yesterday, under the instructions of the President of the Republic. The initiative, spearheaded by the Prime Minister, aims to significantly advance the agricultural sector through increased mechanization.
The establishment of this council marks a pivotal step in modernizing agriculture and bolstering its productive capacity. By providing farmers and investors with essential agricultural equipment, the council seeks to ensure its efficient utilization, tailored to the specific needs of each agricultural sector.
The council comprises representatives from relevant sectors, alongside delegates from professional farmers’ associations and local economic operators involved in the production of agricultural equipment.
The Prime Minister has directed the council to develop a comprehensive action plan. This plan will include a thorough assessment of farmers’ equipment needs, prioritizing requirements for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 agricultural seasons to guarantee their success.
The action plan will also outline measures to enhance and diversify local production of agricultural equipment, meeting demands according to the usage standards adopted in each agricultural region.
Furthermore, the council will address issues related to strengthening national capabilities in agricultural equipment maintenance and spare parts provision. This will be achieved through the development of a national maintenance network, ensuring the efficient use of the national equipment fleet.
Regular meetings will be held to evaluate the implementation of the action plan, ensuring effective and rapid fulfillment of identified needs in the field of agricultural mechanization and enhancing the overall performance of the country’s agricultural sector.
The council’s work is expected to greatly improve the efficiency and output of the agricultural sector.
