Education Ministry Announces Data Review for Baccalaureate & BEM Candidates

Algiers – The Ministry of National Education has issued an important statement regarding the verification of candidate data for the upcoming Brevet d’enseignement moyen (BEM) and Baccalaureate exams of 2026.

In a press release dated January 25, 2026, the Ministry announced that all candidates are required to review their pre-registered information on the National Office of Examinations and Competitions (ONEC) websites. This review period will run from Monday, January 26, 2026, to Monday, February 9, 2026.

The Ministry has outlined specific procedures for correcting any identified errors. For enrolled students, any discrepancies must be reported to their school principal before February 10, 2026. Independent candidates are required to notify the Directorate of Education in which they are registered, or the relevant Wilaya Center for Distance Learning and Training, as applicable, before the same deadline.

Specifically, regarding the Baccalaureate exam, if an error concerns the number of previous attempts declared or the prior possession of a Baccalaureate degree, candidates must complete any outstanding payment via the electronic payment platform epay.education.dz before the February 9, 2026 deadline.

These measures underscore the Ministry of National Education’s commitment to ensuring the accuracy of candidate data and facilitating the smooth and lawful conduct of the 2026 BEM and Baccalaureate examinations.
