Israeli Strikes Kill Two in Southern Lebanon

Two individuals were killed and another injured on Sunday following two Israeli airstrikes targeting towns in southern Lebanon. The strikes represent the latest violation of the ceasefire agreement in the region.

According to reports, one person was killed in an airstrike that targeted a vehicle near the town of Derdghaya in the Tyre district. The Israeli military acknowledged the strike, claiming it targeted a “terrorist operative” in the Al-Bazouriyeh area of southern Lebanon.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported that another person was killed and one injured in an Israeli strike targeting the area between the towns of Kharbet Selem and Kfardounine in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh Governorate.

The Israeli military claimed it attacked Hezbollah operatives inside a weapons production facility in the Bir al-Sanasil area of southern Lebanon. According to a military statement, the building was being used by Hezbollah and served as a site for producing weapons. The military claimed to have been monitoring activity at the location for some time.

Earlier on Sunday, reports indicated an Israeli airstrike in the town of Kharbet Selem.

These incidents are part of a pattern of violations of the ceasefire agreement, which has been in place since late November 2024. The ongoing violations have resulted in hundreds of casualties and widespread destruction. The situation remains tense, with concerns over further escalation.

Israel continues to occupy several Lebanese hills seized during the conflict, adding to other Lebanese territories it has occupied for decades.
