Israeli Aggression on Lebanon: Over 37 Towns Erased and More than 40,000 Housing Units Fully Destroyed in the South

Beirut – The Israeli occupation forces have engaged in extensive destruction and booby-trapping operations in southern Lebanon, leading to the near-complete erasure of more than 37 towns and the total demolition of approximately 40,000 residential units, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The report highlights that as part of its ongoing, large-scale military campaign, Israel has intensified its destructive measures, focusing on southern Lebanon. The Israeli military has systematically targeted entire neighborhoods in towns and villages, obliterating over 37 communities and completely destroying more than 40,000 homes. This devastation spans an area approximately 3 kilometers wide, from Naqoura to the outskirts of Khiam.

Israel’s military campaign, which has been primarily concentrated in southern Lebanon, continues with severe aerial and ground assaults. These aggressive operations have wreaked havoc on infrastructure and residential areas, pushing the region into a state of humanitarian crisis.

Lebanon has been under Israeli attack since October 2023. However, since late September 2024, Israel has markedly escalated its bombardment with unprecedented intensity. The expanded military offensive has reached even the capital, Beirut, resulting in thousands of casualties and injuries among Lebanese civilians. Additionally, the escalating violence has displaced over one million people, forcing them to flee their homes in search of safety.
