Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers today, Sunday, to discuss and approve several key initiatives aimed at boosting the national economy and improving social welfare.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace, focused on a range of critical sectors, including agriculture, energy, and infrastructure development. Ministers presented detailed reports on the progress of ongoing projects and outlined plans for future investments. The Council emphasized the importance of accelerating the pace of economic diversification and reducing reliance on hydrocarbons.
Specific attention was given to measures designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognizing their vital role in job creation and economic growth. The Council approved a series of incentives and financial assistance programs to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed issues related to social welfare and public services. The Council reviewed proposals to improve access to healthcare, education, and housing, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. President Tebboune underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring social justice and equal opportunities for all citizens.
The Council of Ministers also discussed regional and international developments, reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. The President reiterated Algeria’s support for multilateralism and its commitment to working with international partners to address global challenges.
Following extensive deliberations, the Council approved a number of resolutions and directives aimed at implementing the government’s policy agenda. Ministers were instructed to take immediate steps to ensure the effective implementation of these measures and to report regularly on their progress.
