Criminal Network Dismantled in Tizi Ouzou for Forging State Seals

Tizi Ouzou, Algeria – A criminal network specializing in the forgery of state seals has been dismantled in Tizi Ouzou by the National Gendarmerie’s Research and Investigation Unit. The operation, which took place under the supervision of judicial authorities, resulted in the arrest of two individuals implicated in the illicit activities.

The investigation was launched following a tip-off regarding suspicious activity involving the falsification of administrative documents and the counterfeiting of official state seals. Authorities acted swiftly, leading to a search of a suspect’s residence.

During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a cache of incriminating evidence, including forged administrative documents, certificates from both public and private banking institutions, and documents from public and private organizations. Also seized were computer equipment, magnetic storage devices, and a sum of money.

Following the completion of legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the competent judicial authorities within the region. They face serious charges, including the felony of forging state seals and stamps, knowingly using forged seals, illegally manufacturing seals or stamps belonging to the state or any authority without written authorization, and knowingly using forged documents issued by public institutions to obtain permits.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Tizi Ouzou to combatting fraud and protecting the integrity of state institutions. The dismantling of this network sends a strong message that such criminal activities will not be tolerated.
