President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called for the adoption of modern mechanization techniques to boost the production of fruit trees across Algeria. The President made the remarks during a Council of Ministers meeting held on Sunday.
President Tebboune specifically instructed the Minister of Agriculture to prioritize the planting of trees with high economic returns, citing pistachio trees as a prime example. He emphasized the importance of leveraging advanced agricultural technologies to improve yields and ensure the long-term sustainability of the fruit tree sector.
“Modernization is key to unlocking the full potential of our agricultural sector,” President Tebboune stated. “By embracing mechanization, we can significantly increase production, create jobs, and contribute to the overall economic growth of the nation.”

In related news, President Tebboune also instructed officials to ensure the completion of the El Hadba – Oued El Kebrit – Port of Annaba project by the end of 2026.
