Prime Minister Guirib Chairs Meeting on Import Regulation

Algiers, Algeria – Prime Minister Sifi Guirib presided over a meeting of the Supreme Council for Import Regulation in Algiers this Monday, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s office. The meeting was dedicated to presenting a review of the imports of goods and services for the year 2025, as well as projections for 2026.

During the session, the Supreme Council for Import Regulation examined measures aimed at improving the framework for import management. The focus was on better addressing the needs of economic operators to effectively meet the genuine requirements of the national economy.

Key discussions centered on streamlining and digitizing import procedures, as well as fostering inter-sectoral coordination to ensure improved processing and monitoring of import operations. The council reaffirmed the fundamental objective of the import regulation system, which is to bolster national production and stimulate investment.

The meeting underscores the government’s commitment to optimizing import processes while prioritizing the growth and development of Algeria’s domestic industries.
