AIN DEFLA, January 27, 2026 – A new industrial hub dedicated to food processing industries is set to be established in Ain Defla province. The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) announced the initiative today, marking a significant step towards bolstering the region’s economic development and supporting the agricultural sector.
The project will commence with the initial allocation of 12 land parcels, owned by the state, for investment. Located within the El Kerma-Tiberkanine activity zone, these plots range in size from 4,000 to 34,000 square meters. The designated area is intended to foster a specialized industrial center focused on food transformation activities, encompassing canning, processing, packaging, preservation, and refrigeration facilities.
This ambitious project is the result of close collaboration between the AAPI, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and local authorities in Ain Defla. The coordination ensures the hub aligns seamlessly with regional development plans and leverages existing local resources.
The AAPI emphasizes the government’s commitment to supporting investors and promoting investment within the agricultural and food processing sectors. Similar investment hubs are currently being prepared in other provinces, reflecting a nationwide effort to stimulate economic growth and diversification.
Interested investors are encouraged to visit the AAPI’s digital platform for detailed information on the land offerings and application procedures. The platform allows for electronic submission of applications, streamlining the investment process.
The establishment of this dedicated industrial hub in Ain Defla is expected to create new job opportunities, attract further investment, and enhance the region’s competitiveness in the food processing sector.
