Constantine, Algeria – The Ministry of Culture and Arts has officially announced the establishment of the annual International Film Panorama in Constantine. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering Algeria’s presence on the international film stage and revitalizing cultural activity both locally and nationally.
The decision, formalized on December 23, 2025, and published in the official gazette, fulfills a pledge made by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Ben Douda, during a meeting with artists in Constantine. This meeting took place during her recent visit to the city in December, following the President’s visit.
The International Film Panorama aims to showcase the latest Algerian cinematic endeavors, with a particular emphasis on supporting young talent and nurturing promising projects in directing, screenwriting, and modern film techniques. The festival also seeks to foster cultural exchange by embracing diverse global cinematic schools and trends.
Constantine’s selection as the host city reflects its historical and cultural significance, reinforcing its role as an artistic hub capable of attracting creators and enthusiasts of the seventh art from within Algeria and abroad. The festival is expected to invigorate the city’s cultural and tourism sectors, granting it a renewed international profile.
With this ambitious cultural project, Algeria takes another step towards solidifying cinema as a fundamental pillar of national creativity and affirming its presence on the global map of film festivals.
