Algeria to Host Major Continental Telecommunications and Technology Event

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, announced that Algeria will host the first continental event of its kind in the field of telecommunications and technology, “Global Africa Tech,” from March 28 to 30, 2026, at the International Conference Center, under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Zerrouki stated that the event, held under the theme “All Networks, One Convergence,” aligns with a shared vision for a digitally united Africa through the integration of terrestrial, satellite, and maritime networks, and the construction of a modern, secure, and sustainable telecommunications system.

The Minister added that Global Africa Tech will serve as a gathering for major players from Africa and around the world for collective discussion and reflection on developing terrestrial infrastructure, strengthening fiber optic networks, and launching advanced initiatives in satellite and aerial communications. It will also focus on securing submarine cables, connecting smart ports, and enhancing continental connectivity.

Organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and Algeria Telecom, the event is expected to welcome more than 5,000 participants from 45 countries, including 50 ministers and decision-makers, as well as representatives of global technology companies and experts in the telecommunications and technology sector.
