Algiers security services, represented by the property crimes unit of the second judicial police district in Bab Ezzouar, dismantled a criminal group last week consisting of nine individuals with prior criminal records. The group had carried out robberies targeting several companies across the central provinces.
The operation was launched after the security services received multiple complaints regarding robberies at various companies, where the perpetrators stole sums of money and electronic devices.
Investigations conducted by the unit’s members, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
The operation also resulted in the seizure and recovery of stolen items, including equipment and tools used in the robberies, two plastic weapons, prohibited bladed weapons, seven televisions, four laptops, and 11 mobile phones.
Additionally, a sum of national currency estimated at 243 million centimes from the proceeds of the thefts was recovered, along with five passenger vehicles. The suspects have been presented before the competent prosecution.
