The Ministry of National Defense revealed on Monday the annual operational balance of the People’s National Army for the year 2025, which was marked by achieving qualitative field results in the field of counter-terrorism and combating organized crime in all its forms, reflecting the high level of readiness and professionalism of the armed forces.
According to the ministry’s statement, the armed forces managed to neutralize 67 terrorists and arrest 369 support elements, as well as discover and destroy 12 hideouts used by terrorist groups. They also recovered 104 firearms and 13 bombs of various types, in addition to quantities of ammunition of different calibers.
In the framework of combating organized crime, 2,354 drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle 35 tons of treated cannabis across the borders with Morocco were thwarted. Additionally, 934 kg of cocaine and 40 million psychotropic tablets were seized. These organized and coordinated operations also resulted in the arrest of 18,744 individuals and the seizure of 498 firearms and 1,747 vehicles. Furthermore, 7,633 jackhammers, 12,574 power generators, 280 metal detectors, 2,638,000 liters of fuel, and 1,850 quintals of tobacco were seized, along with 1,298 tons of food items intended for smuggling and speculation during separate operations across the national territory.
The same source added that joint detachments of the People’s National Army arrested 24,071 illegal migrants of various nationalities across the national territory.
