François Davenne, Director General of the International Union of Railways, praised the implementation of a project of the scale of the Western Mining Railway Line (Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet) and the passenger railway line.
In a statement to public television, François Davenne said: “We highly value and appreciate the significant work carried out by the Algerian National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Realization.”
He added: “The completion of such an important project in Africa brings great economic benefits given the vast natural resources that Algeria possesses. We are very pleased with this achievement and strongly encourage this type of project.”
He continued: “We commend Algeria’s focus on establishing advanced infrastructure and railway lines, and the idea of linking these lines to demographic growth and regional planning,” adding: “What caught our attention in the implementation of such major projects in Algeria is the high level of technical mastery by Algerian engineers and the great expertise of Algerian companies.”
