Civil Protection: Deployment of a special security apparatus for weather fluctuations

The Civil Protection Directorate of Medea Province has deployed a special operational and security apparatus for the field monitoring of various interventions and operations, particularly those related to emergency medical services, health evacuations, and road accidents across the province’s entire road network.

According to a statement from the same services, this measure comes within the framework of a special weather bulletin indicating snowfall across Medea Province, with a specific focus on sensitive areas known to be affected by weather fluctuations, such as the Ben Chicao area on the North-South Highway, Si Mahjoub, Derrag, Ain Boucif, and the municipality of Medea.

The Civil Protection services also called on citizens to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel, especially on mountain roads. They emphasized the need to respect traffic safety rules, reduce speed, maintain a safe distance, ensure vehicle safety and equipment with necessary preventive tools, and follow official weather reports.

Furthermore, the Civil Protection Directorate reminded citizens of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, particularly during the winter season. It urged the necessity of daily home ventilation, ensuring ventilation openings are not blocked, regularly inspecting and maintaining heating devices and water heaters, avoiding the use of heating devices in closed spaces or while sleeping, and ensuring that gas exhaust chimneys are safe and unobstructed.
