Seizure of nearly a quintal of drugs originating from Morocco

Last week, the operational services of the Naama provincial security conducted two consecutive operations resulting in the seizure of 80 kg of treated cannabis originating from Morocco.

According to a statement from the security services, nearly 4 billion centimes in criminal proceeds were recovered, and 13 individuals were arrested.

The first operation was carried out by the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) in the city of Ain Sefra, where the shipment of drugs was found concealed inside a passenger vehicle.

Six members of the criminal network were arrested, and a second vehicle used for illegal activities was seized.

The second operation was conducted by the anti-drug trafficking squad of the Naama provincial security.

This operation led to the dismantling of another criminal network operating in the Mecheria region, consisting of seven individuals.

The group specialized in laundering money derived from the proceeds of illegal drug trafficking and distribution.

The suspects were presented before the public prosecutors at the courts of Ain Sefra and Mecheria.
