Detachments of the People’s National Army arrested seven support elements for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory. According to the operational balance of the People’s National Army for the period from January 1 to January 7, 2026, 28 drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle three quintals and 87 kilograms of treated hashish across the border with Morocco were thwarted.
Additionally, 4.4 kilograms of cocaine and 155,943 hallucinogenic pills were seized. In the same context, army detachments arrested 208 individuals and seized 30 vehicles, 31 generators, and 192 pressure hammers, in addition to quantities of raw gold ore and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations.
Furthermore, 14 other individuals were arrested, and an automatic pistol, a hunting rifle, 29,527 liters of fuel, seven quintals of tobacco, and eight tons of food intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during separate operations. Moreover, 311 illegal immigrants of various nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
