Launch of 5G technology is the result of strict political will

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, confirmed that the launch of 5G technology in Algeria is the result of a firm political will and the state’s direct commitment to modernizing public services.

During a ceremony organized by the operator Ooredoo on Wednesday evening to launch its 5G services, Zerrouki emphasized that this launch aligns with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which aim to place citizens at the heart of priorities by ensuring they benefit from high-quality services.

The Minister praised the mobilization of all relevant institutions to implement the project, describing 5G technology as a “fundamental lever for the national economy,” particularly in the fields of smart agriculture, industry, and education.

For his part, the General Manager of Ooredoo Algeria, Roni Tohme, stated that this commercial launch represents a “decisive step” for the company, marking its entry into the operational phase of its digital strategy.

The event featured a specialized seminar involving experts from the digital ecosystem who analyzed the challenges and opportunities of 5G technology across various sectors.
