Dismantling of two criminal groups specialized in fraud and forgery

The Algiers state security services, represented by the property crimes unit of the third district of the judicial police in El Biar, succeeded last week in dismantling two criminal groups consisting of six individuals, including a woman. All suspects have prior criminal records and were active in fraud, forgery, and theft.

A statement from the National Security indicated that this qualitative operation followed several complaints from citizens who were victims of fraud involving the forgery of administrative documents and the theft of their property. According to the statement, the suspects seized household furniture from the residence of one of the victims in the capital.

Following an in-depth investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, police officers identified and arrested the suspects in a short period, recovering the stolen items and seizing various objects used in the criminal activity. The seized items included stolen household furniture, a sum of national currency amounting to 6.3 million centimes, three mobile phones used in forgery operations, forged bank documents, and computer equipment.

All suspects have been presented before the competent prosecution for the necessary legal proceedings.
