The President of the Constitutional Court, Leila Aslaoui, is participating in the ninth high-level meeting of heads of African constitutional courts, supreme courts, and constitutional councils, held in Cairo from February 6 to 9.
According to a statement from the Constitutional Court, participants in the Cairo meeting will address the challenges facing constitutional justice in Africa through three sessions covering various topics. The first session, chaired by Aslaoui, will focus on the “Independence of Constitutional Justice.”
The Constitutional Court is also contributing to the proceedings with a research paper presented by court member Amar Boudiaf, highlighting the Algerian experience in this field. The second session will address “Technological Challenges and Artificial Intelligence,” while the third session will discuss the “Limits of Constitutional Jurisdiction.”
The Constitutional Court noted that its participation in this meeting reflects its firm commitment to strengthening African judicial cooperation and exchanging expertise with its counterparts on the continent. It also aims to discuss common issues facing African constitutional justice and develop shared visions that contribute to advancing constitutional judicial work and consolidating the rule of law and institutions across the African continent.
