Red Crescent Outlines Solidarity Program for Ramadan

The Algerian Red Crescent has established an extensive solidarity program featuring activities aimed at strengthening social cohesion across the country in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a statement released by the organization on Saturday, the program includes the distribution of more than 200,000 food parcels in coordination with local authorities nationwide. Needy families were identified through the Algerian Red Crescent’s digital platform.

The organization emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all food parcels reach their intended recipients before the start of Ramadan, noting that provincial committees will continue to receive and distribute aid throughout the holy month.

As part of the initiative, 17 large-scale tents will be set up across several provinces, with a daily capacity to serve between 800 and 1,200 people for Iftar in each tent.

Meals will also be distributed at international airports in Algiers, Oran, and Constantine, and a daily Iftar will be organized at the Kharrouba station in Algiers.

Additional activities include supporting more than 47 Quranic schools, distributing over 50,000 sets of Eid clothing to orphans, and organizing 20,000 collective circumcision ceremonies.
