Periodic Media Meeting: Excerpts from President Tebboune’s Statements

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held his periodic media meeting with representatives of the national press, as announced by the Presidency of the Republic. The meeting is scheduled to be broadcast starting at 9:00 PM this Saturday on television and radio channels.

During the session, the President highlighted several key points, describing the Gara Djebilet-Tindouf-Bechar project as one of the major battles fought by the nation’s greats. He also confirmed that there will be no toll stations established on the highways.

Addressing press freedom, the President was asked if a journalist possessing a file on a minister could publish it, to which he replied in the affirmative. He also noted that there are some imbalances in the application of the Constitution.

Regarding Algerians residing abroad, the President stated that those who have made mistakes should not further involve themselves in larger errors, noting the complexities of living under the influence of foreign intelligence services.

On the diplomatic front, President Tebboune declined to answer questions regarding France. However, he expressed mutual satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations with the United States.

Finally, speaking on the national football team, the President described himself as a passionate supporter of the “Greens,” admitting that he often turns the television on and off during matches before asking his children for the final score.
