Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, gave the signal to launch the National University Cross-Country Championship at the Mohamed Boudiaf July 5 Sports Complex in Algiers.
In a press statement to public television, Baddari revealed that approximately 200 students from various university institutions will participate to qualify 12 students for the World Championship.
The minister added that this championship embodies the directives and commitments of the President of the Republic aimed at strengthening the status of university sports to form a sporting elite that shines regionally and internationally in various forums, reflecting the true face of the victorious and rising New Algeria that invests in its universities and the potential of its students and youth.
This competition serves as a qualifier for the World University Cross-Country Championship, which will be held in Italy next March.
