Iranian state television reported that dozens of security and police personnel have been killed during the ongoing protests in the country. Iranian television revealed that 30 members of the security and police forces were killed in Isfahan province, while the commander of the Iranian police special forces announced the death of eight members during “riots last Thursday and Friday.”
The Iranian Red Crescent also stated that one of its members was targeted during an attack on relief buildings in the city of Gorgan, in the north of the country. For his part, the Iranian Interior Minister confirmed that “the riots are gradually receding.”
Iran has been witnessing protests over living conditions for the 15th consecutive day amid a total internet shutdown.
