Algiers Stock Exchange Approves New Sponsor

The Commission for the Organization and Supervision of Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB) announced on Wednesday that it has granted accreditation to the National Agency for the Promotion of Research and Technological Development Results (ANVREDET) as a sponsor for Algiers Stock Exchange operations.

This accreditation authorizes the public agency to support companies seeking to list on the stock exchange, particularly within the growth segment dedicated to small, medium, and startup enterprises. The agency will intervene during the preparatory phase by assisting in structuring the listing project, preparing the admission file and the information prospectus, and providing ongoing support for five years following the listing. It will also ensure compliance with financial disclosure obligations and market regulations.

COSOB described the accreditation of this public industrial and commercial institution as a significant step in strengthening the links between scientific research, innovation, and the financial market, noting that it will contribute to expanding financing opportunities for innovative startups.

With this measure, the agency becomes the fifth sponsor accredited by COSOB, joining RMGC Consulting, Grant Thornton Algeria, Finabi Consulting, and Invest Market.

Established in 1998, the National Agency for the Promotion of Research and Technological Development Results focuses on promoting scientific research outcomes, transferring technology to the national economic fabric, and supporting innovative projects and startups, while also strengthening ties between research actors and economic institutions.

The growth segment of the Algiers Stock Exchange was established under the 2023 financial market reform through Regulation No. 23-04. COSOB simplified the listing conditions to suit the specific characteristics of this category of companies, requiring a minimum capital raise of 10 million Algerian Dinars for stock exchange admission.
