Members of the Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking (SCLTIS) have dismantled an organized criminal network and arrested five of its members. A statement from the Algerian police services reported that the criminal group operated across one of the southeastern provinces, where a significant shipment of psychotropic substances, totaling 628,000 Pregabalin capsules, was seized.
Operational intelligence and field monitoring enabled investigators to identify a trailer truck modified to transport the drugs toward northern and eastern provinces. The vehicle was intercepted and stopped, and a thorough search revealed hidden compartments containing the seized psychotropic substances.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecution, also resulted in the recovery of three vehicles of various types, one of which was used to clear the path for the truck. The suspects have been presented before the public prosecutor at the specialized criminal pole in Ouargla.
