Skikda Port Reopens for Gasoline Ships

Skikda Port received the oil tanker “KINEST” at 2:00 AM on Wednesday at the “P1” pier in the old port. This follows a nearly 10-year hiatus after the pier was rehabilitated to receive gasoline transport ships from Skikda Port to various Algerian and international ports.

According to a statement, this pier is characterized by its ability to receive ships in difficult weather conditions, with a capacity of 35,000 tons or less, a length not exceeding 195 meters, and a draft not exceeding 13 meters.

The last docking operation dates back to February 1, 2016, with the suspension attributed to technical and logistical conditions. The rehabilitation of the P1 pier will serve as a starting point and a significant addition to resuming gasoline exports from Skikda Port to numerous destinations, pending the arrival of other ships.
