Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari called on university students on Thursday in Oran to actively participate in the country’s economic movement by transforming their innovative projects into startups and small enterprises.
During his visit to the Higher School of Biological Sciences as part of a working visit to several university and research institutions in Oran province, Baddari urged student project holders to effectively engage in Algeria’s economic movement and take advantage of the support provided by the state.
During his visit to an exhibition of innovative projects, Baddari stressed the need for students to register their patents to ensure intellectual property and convert their scientific research into marketable products by creating startups and small enterprises. He also urged student supervisors to guide them toward this path with the aim of making the university a locomotive for development and the creation of jobs and sustainable wealth.
The Minister’s visit to Oran also includes inspecting the Research Center in Industrial Technologies in the “USTO” neighborhood, where he will oversee the inauguration of a subsidiary. He will also visit the technological platform for mechanical systems and intervention and service robotics at the same research institution.
At the University of Science and Technology of Oran “Mohamed Boudiaf,” Baddari will review university interfaces linked to the economic environment, such as the incubator and the entrepreneurship development center, in addition to visiting an exhibition of students holding startup and small enterprise projects.
The visit is also expected to include the signing of agreements with economic partners and the honoring of outstanding students in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
