Boulbina Addresses Officiating Injustice Against Algeria in AFCON

Algerian national team player Adel Boulbina confirmed that the “Greens” were subjected to “blatant officiating injustice” during the quarter-final match against Nigeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Boulbina stated that the Nigerian national team did not need such assistance from Senegalese referee Issa Sy, given its status as a major team.

He added: “We suffered from officiating injustice, and the Nigerian team is a great side that does not deserve the referee’s help. Fortunately, we have turned the page on the Africa Cup and will look toward the future.”

Regarding his first experience in the continental competition, he said: “The experience of participating in the Africa Cup was very positive. I achieved my dream of playing for the senior national team, and I will continue to work on developing my capabilities to help my club and the national team in future matches.”

The Al-Duhail star also discussed the 2026 World Cup, stating: “The World Cup is a global tournament and different from the Africa Cup. We will try to enter it strongly and bring joy to the Algerian people.”
