Police officers in El Khroub, under the Constantine provincial security directorate, have dismantled a neighborhood gang consisting of 18 individuals involved in a mass brawl that disturbed public security, according to a statement released on Saturday by the provincial security communication office.
The same source explained that following a report of a clash between two groups in the city of El Khroub involving bladed weapons and trained dogs, police units responded to the scene. They arrested 18 participants, most of whom have prior criminal records. During the operation, authorities seized seven large bladed weapons, including knives and daggers, as well as six trained dogs used for intimidation and fighting.
Following the completion of the investigation, the suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the El Khroub court. They face charges related to establishing and organizing a neighborhood gang, recruiting individuals for gang activity to terrorize citizens, endangering lives and security, damaging property, and attacking individuals using weapons and trained dogs, as well as utilizing a vehicle to facilitate movement and escape.
