President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced that an agreement has been reached with the President of Niger, Abdourahamane Tiani, to launch the project for the gas pipeline crossing Nigerien territory immediately after the month of Ramadan.
In a joint media statement with the Nigerien President, President Tebboune confirmed that “immediately after Ramadan, practical procedures will begin to start laying the pipeline on Nigerien territory, God willing.”
President Tebboune also emphasized Algeria’s readiness to support “our brothers in Niger with everything they need, without withholding any available resources.”
He added: “It was agreed to delve into the details of projects related to the sectors of health, the construction of secondary educational institutions, the establishment of a kidney dialysis department, and the creation of a press house in the capital, Niamey, for the benefit of the Nigerien media community.”
